2 miles each way with modest gain
The nature center is a wonderful place to take your grandchildren.
This hike is 2 miles each way up and back along the Placerita creek canyon to the Walker Ranch. You can turn around at any time.
There might be several stream crossings. Your socks may get wet (but your feet are waterproof !)
Marc hiked the trail several days ago & there's a few inches of water in some places so people need to know they might get their socks wet; they should bring trekking poles or ski poles that we cam share (I have both) if they have them.
Take the 405/170/5 north to highway 14. Take 14 to the second offramp which is Placerita Canyon Rd. Turn right at the bottom of the offramp and drive two miles to the Placerita Cyn Natural Area on your right. There's a large parking lot at the bottom where we'll meet at the entrance to the Nature Center.
